CABBAGE UPKARI


Cabbage Upkari
is very quick and easy dish to make for lunch or dinner and can be eaten with chapatis or poori or rice.

Ingredients:

  1. Cabbage 1/4 Kg and 2 Potatoes cut into small pieces as below (Cabbage small size, Potatoes bigger size)



  2. 2 Green Chillies , Coriander leaves, Curry leaves, 1-2 tomatoes cut into small size
  3. Grated Coconut 1/2 Cup
  4. Mustard seeds 2 tea spoon, Jeera(cumin seeds) 1 tea spoon, Turmeric Powder 1/4 tea spoon, Salt as per taste
  5. Oil for seasoning


Method:

  1. Heat a pan on stove/gas then add 2 table spoon of oil
  2. After oil heats up, put mustard seeds and jeera. When mustard seeds crackle add curry leaves and green chillies.
  3. Fry for about 1/2 Minute. Now add turmeric powder and cut tomatoes and mix well. Dont let the turmeric powder get burnt.
  4. Now add chopped cabbage and potatoes and mix well. Sprinkle some water and close the pan with a lid.




  5. When the mixture is half cooked add salt as per taste and coriander leaves. Close the lid again until it cooks properly for 10 to 15 minutes.




  6. Serve this hot with rotis or chapatis or rice
